Qubulus has reached below 1m accuracy for its indoor positioning platform LocLizard™ and is offering a pay-per-accuracy license model

Summary
The indoor positioning market has been waiting for someone to solve the shelf-level accuracy and Qubulus is now happy to confirm that it has achieved below 1m accuracy in a live environment in a mall in Malmö. This work is the result of research that was conducted in cooperation with the University of Lund from January to June this year and has since then been implemented into the LocLizard™ platform.
Mathematics
The mathematicians behind the work are Professor Andreas Jakobsson and one of his former students who is now employed by Qubulus. Their theoretical approach was focused on the way the existing Qubulus algorithms could be improved to incorporate a distance setting so that you can achieve the accuracy needed for each service using it.
The breakthrough presented an opportunity to implement the new algorithms into the LocLizard™ positioning platform by altering the Qubulus Positioning System (QPS™). 

Real live tests
The recent real live tests show that QPS™ can now deliver sub 1m accuracy when the radio environment is proven rich and sufficient, 2 meter in a less sufficient radio environment and is then adjustable to the needs of each customer. To meet this new type of usage scenario the platform has been adopted to cloud based hosting currently working on Amazon and the performance testing shows excellent results.

Here are the results from the live tests at Hanse Mall during the period May - September 2011:
MEAN ERROR = 1:15 m
MAXIMUM ERROR = 4:94 m
MINIMUM ERROR = 0 m
MEDIAN ERROR = 0:56 m

Early 2011 Qubulus engaged with a customer with these specific needs and it has adopted its technology to fit the demand to what at the time was an impossible to fulfill request.
